Anthropic has officially launched Claude Opus 4.8, the latest version of its AI model, bringing improvements in coding, reasoning, and task handling while keeping pricing unchanged from the previous version.

Available starting today, Claude Opus 4.8 builds on Opus 4.7 with better benchmark results across coding, agentic tasks, reasoning, and knowledge work. According to Anthropic, the updated model is designed to be a more reliable AI collaborator and is less likely to make unsupported claims.
The company also introduced several new features alongside the release. Users on Claude.ai can now control how much effort the AI puts into tasks, allowing them to choose between faster responses or deeper thinking for more difficult work.
For developers, Claude Code now adds a new “dynamic workflows” feature, allowing the AI to handle larger projects by running multiple subagents at the same time.
Opus 4.8 also introduces a fast mode that runs up to 2.5 times faster while becoming cheaper compared to previous versions.
Anthropic said early testing showed the model performs better in coding tasks and is less likely to miss problems in generated code.
Claude Opus 4.8 is available now through Claude.ai and the Claude API.
