When tea culture becomes the highlight of the journey
On October 9th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province organized a survey program on the Hanoi – Thai Nguyen tourist train tour product with the theme "Journey to the Land of Tea". The program was attended by more than 220 delegates, including representatives from management agencies, travel businesses, tourism experts, journalists, KOLs and travel bloggers in Hanoi and Thai Nguyen.
On the train departing from Hanoi station and stopping at Luu Xa station, spaces showcasing tea products, OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, and promoting local tourism were arranged, creating a highlight for passengers to experience. After the train journey, the group continued to visit destinations associated with the province's culture, history, and community tourism.
The noteworthy aspect of this model lies not only in opening a new tourist route but also in integrating tea culture into the experience from the very beginning of the journey. Instead of simply learning about Thai Nguyen tea through the products on display or word-of-mouth recommendations, passengers have the opportunity to learn about the story of this region famous for its tea industry before directly exploring the production facilities and local cultural spaces.
This approach also expands the methods of promoting agricultural products. Tea is not only presented as a quality product but also as a product carrying the story of the land, people, and cultural practices. When tourists can directly learn about the tea-making process, meet producers, and experience tea tasting, the value of the product can be fully appreciated compared to mere promotional methods.
