Speaking to Thanh Nien newspaper , bride Le Thi Bich Tuyen (29 years old, from Thoai Son commune, An Giang province) said that her wedding ceremony took place on October 9th. Her aunt, Phan Thi Linh Phi (42 years old), gave her a piggy bank as a wedding gift. Tuyen's husband is Japanese ; they met and got to know each other while she was working in Japan.
The video clip showing Ms. Phi giving her piggy bank to her granddaughter has received many views on social media.
Tuyen's mother has five siblings, and her aunt Phi is her only younger sister. From childhood to adulthood, Tuyen lived with her grandmother and aunt, so the bond between them is very strong. To her, her aunt is not only a relative but also as close as her own mother, so she often affectionately calls her "Auntie Phi."
"More than two years ago, my father passed away, and to compensate for the lack of affection, my aunt has loved me even more. She said she would save up money in a piggy bank to give me as a wedding gift. She runs a grocery store, and every day she puts money into that piggy bank to make it a special present," Tuyen said.
Ms. Tuyen said she didn't place much importance on the amount of money in the piggy bank. What touched her was the abundance of banknotes of different denominations inside, carefully saved by her aunt over time. The moment the whole family broke open the piggy bank together amidst joyful laughter became a memorable moment in her wedding ceremony.
After the wedding, Tuyen and her husband will return to Japan to continue working.
She hopes her granddaughter will always be happy.
